Sampo Järnefelt to lead Soilfood’s international growth

Soilfood is reshaping its organization to better support the company’s growth strategy. Chief Commercial Officer Sampo Järnefelt is moving into a role leading the company’s international growth and the development of new markets. At the same time, the operations and sales units at Soilfood Finland are being brought under Business Director Laura Tokeensuu.

Sampo Järnefelt has over ten years of experience building circular economy connections between industry and agriculture. Going forward, in his role as Chief International Officer, he will focus on opening new markets and accelerating Soilfood’s international growth across Europe. He reports to Soilfood Group’s CEO, Eljas Jokinen.
Aligning operations and sales under Laura Tokeensuu’s leadership aims to ensure seamless performance across all product pipelines and in customer service, serving both industrial customers and farmers. A corresponding organizational model is already in use at the company in Sweden.

“From the very beginning, we have recognized that realizing our vision and mission requires international expansion. We are now more ready for it than ever. In Sweden, we have demonstrated that our model works beyond our home market as well, and that gives us a foundation to expand into new markets,” says Group CEO Eljas Jokinen.
“Our strategy aims at higher-value end products and increasing the degree of refinement of side streams, which challenges our production and sales in new ways. A line organization, in which one person has a strong and capable team as well as ownership of the whole, is a logical step in the company’s growth,” he continues.
The organizational change took place on 1 June 2026.
