Soilfood is a Nordic circular economy company, founded in Finland 2015. Our mission is to replace virgin raw materials with recycled ones in large volumes and quickly. This work we do with our customers in industry and agriculture.

Founded in 2015, Soilfood is a Nordic pioneer in the circular economy. The company connects industry and agriculture by turning industrial side streams into valuable products for both industrial use and for farms. Today Soilfood recycles over 300,000 tonnes of side streams into use annually and operates across the Nordics. Our goal is to offer the most profitable and commercially viable services and products in the circular economy. Impact of our work

We refine industrial side streams into products that replace virgin raw materials, with benefits for food production, water bodies, soil health, and the climate.

By recycling nutrients, we replace energy-intensively produced inputs and improve the security of supply in food production. Our soil improvement fibres and structure limes improve soil fertility and can cut phosphorus leaching from fields into water bodies by up to half*. Fibre treatment also brings organic matter into the field: the carbon contained in the raw materials is bound into arable soil, part of it long-term. For the farmer, this builds soil health over time and helps keep fields productive.

Soilfood’s products carry only a fraction of the emissions of comparable virgin products, because they are made from side streams. This makes the circular economy a concrete form of climate action. For industrial partners, it means progress toward material efficiency and sustainability goals, backed by a reliable business partnership.
