Soilfood Appoints Ebba Örwall as Quality Manager to Drive Circular Economy Forward
Soilfood Sweden AB has appointed Ebba Örwall as Quality Manager. Ebba brings over 15 years of experience in quality and environmental management across multiple industries. The appointment strengthens Soilfood’s commitment to ensuring that circular products meet and exceed the quality standards of their virgin alternatives.
Quality is not a support function at Soilfood. It is a prerequisite for everything the company does. Since its founding, Soilfood has productised dozens of recycled products for agriculture and delivered over two million tonnes of circular products to farms across the Nordics. None of this would have been possible without rigorous, systematic quality work.
“Quality is what makes the circular economy possible. If recycled products cannot stand comparison with conventional alternatives, the transition will not happen. My role is to ensure they do. And that our customers can trust that every time,” says Ebba Örwall.
Quality across the entire chain
For circular products, quality management is embedded throughout the value chain. At Soilfood, this means established processes for refining industrial side streams, thousands of laboratory analyses annually, and external verification of every end product. The company is certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, with annual third-party audits.
“We don’t assume quality, we verify it,” says Örwall. “That is what sets circular products apart. Established processes, continuous analysis and independent verification. That is how you build trust.”
Driven by the conviction not to waste
Ebba lives on a farm in Österlen in southern Sweden. When asked what drives her, the answer is straightforward: not wasting resources.
“That is really what it comes down to for me, whether it’s materials, energy or food. I want to work where I can make a real difference for industrial material efficiency and for making food production more sustainable and self-sufficient. Soilfood is exactly that place.
